Driver Perc 6i

Checking disks behind RAID controllers RAID controllers typically simulate a (logical) disk for each array of (physical) disks to the OS. Access to SMART functionality relies on ATA or SCSI pass through I/O controls providing direct access to each physical disk. But the standard I/O controls available are usually not designed to make this distinction between logical and physical disks.

Therefore, smartmontools has to use vendor specific I/O controls. Support for disks behind RAID controllers is highly dependent on both platform and controller type.

I just got my Perc 6/i and was testing it out. But I am having problems with drivers for Windows XP 32 bit. I went to Dell's website under PowerEdge R900 to download the drivers as mentioned in other post, Firstly, it does not have Windows XP X86 under operating system.

So I tried all X86 Windows OS from the drop down list. Only Windows Server 2008 X86 worked. But after I installed the driver, under Device Manager there is a yellow triangle '!'

Inside saying the device is non functional and giving Error Code 39. I even tried LSI's website using MegaRAID SAS 8888ELP Windows XP 32 bit driver, but Windows says its not the right driver and won't even install. So where do I get working Windows XP 32 bit for Perc 6/i?
